  This adapter, while adequate, leaves much to be desired.

  I like to buy spare power adapters for my laptops- one for home, one for the road. I don’t need full docking stations, but find it easier to just slip the laptop out and plug in at my desk when I get “home”, leaving my “mobile” charger in the case so I never forget it.

  This charger works and includes both the brick and the wall cable, as opposed to some items that require you to buy both pieces separately. And paying $20 for this sure beats spending $100+ for the “real” one from HP.

  My complaints are twofold:

  1) The overall length of this cable is adequate, but much shorter than the original. I understand that using fewer materials is one way they get away with a cheaper price, but I would prefer to tack on a few extra dollars for a few extra inches.

  2) The adpater gets *extremely* hot. This point cannot be emphasised enough! Do NOT leave this adapter plugged in when not in use, or you’re asking for a fire!!! While in use, be sure that it’s clear of any clutter and most importantly, watch your hands/feet. If you have children be doubly careful. The power brick will most likely burn them if they go grabbing for it!

  In summary, for the price you pay, this charger does the job but you may wish to look for an alternative or even spring full price for the “real” charger.

  This replacement charger does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I have had it for several months now with no problems. It fits correctly and seems to be relatively equal to the charger that came with the laptop.

  Here’s a hint for those who are having power problems with their laptop (a general hint not necessarily related to this specific product). I thought my DC power port was broken and was willing to spend a couple hundred dollars to get it fixed. Before spending that much money, I figured I’d buy this charger to make sure I didn’t just need a replacement power cord. As it turns out, that’s all I really needed! So if you’re having power problems with your laptop, buy a replacement power cord first before getting it fixed as this might be the cause of your problems.

  I ordered an AC adapter from this company and specified my computer make, model and what type of adapter complete with voltage information straight off of the original adapter box. It took forever to get and when it finally arrived, it was the wrong one. Not even close (my HP DV8315 has a 3 prong adapter, the one I was sent was only a 2 prong). So I emailed the seller, and they apologized and said they were out of stock. Sounds to me like they throw as much up against the wall not caring if they’re sending what the advertisement indicated, and then hope no one bothers to return it. Not only did I return it, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN.

  Charger went bad within 3 months of purchase. Seller only provides 30 day warranty. Buy the original HP charger instead.

  I’ve had this battery for just a day, but I’m very happy with the performance so far. I run an HP Dv9000t with Vista Ultimate, so it demands a lot of power. Depending upon what I’m doing, I can get around 3 solid hours from this battery versus the one installed by HP which got around 2 or less. Also, this 12 cell is a fair bit cheaper than standard HP 9 cell. If you don’t mind the extra weight and bulk (which bulges out from the bottom of the laptop) than this is the far superior battery.

  Product is awesome - battery life is better than I hoped and it’s protruded shape helps keep the laptop cooler by keeping it slightly raised. No brainer this one - buy it if you need a replacement.

  This is a good replacement battery, although it is a little annoying at times the way it sticks out. My laptop is already a pretty large one and this makes it even more bulky. However, I knew it would be like that when I bought it. The positive is that it helps keep the computer cooler by creating extra space underneath.

  I have had this battery for about 2 weeks now and it has been working great. I get around 4 hours of battery life on my dv9200 laptop now when I got 3 hours on the HP battery that died. It dose bulge out from the bottom but it actually makes the laptop easier to use when typing and keeps the laptop cooler. Also while in the car I rest the laptop on my leg where the battery is and it dose not make my lap as hot when working on it. I did some battery life tests and it dose do well with the great demand that my laptop gives it for example I can actually play high end games with this battery with out it going dead like Crysis (I was very surprised about this.) and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with no problem. When playing a game it dose make the battery die faster but not that much but I expected this. All and all this is a great battery and worth buying. It would be nice to see where it was made and by who but I could probably guess where. (Made in China and a generic battery company.) If you want insane battery life get this because this was hard to find any 12 cell battery anywhere.

  This 12 cell battery is well worth getting for your HP notebook. It will extend your battery life by about an hour (more if you don’t use power hungry applications and turn your screen brightness down). It is a bit beefy and will protrude out the bottom of the laptop. I actually prefer this as it changes the angle of the laptop to allow more air flow, as well as easier typing. If you need an extra battery for your notebook and want a long life battery, this is a really good option.
